Winter music discussion

Winter weather is finally in effect. I know its not a big deal in some places that I see snow out my window but considering I'm in Alabama I think thats a big deal. The colder it gets the more mellow my musical taste seems to get. My favorite winter album of recent years is Grizzly Bear's Veckamist. Last winter during a snow storm I listened to the album over and over again. The album has a haunting lingering sensibility which goes perfect with a time of the year where things start to slow. In fact all of Grizzly Bear's albums seem to have a great wintertime quality. Another great winter album is American Gangster by Jay-Z. Jay-Z is probably one of the greatest fall/winter album artists of all-time. His flow seems to go over so well with snow and cold wind outside your door. Kanye West is also a great winter artist. With both 808s and Heartbreak and now My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy Kanye makes thoughtful melodic music perfect for indoors. So there you go people
