Drake in a matter of 2 yrs has went from a relatively unknown rapper to one of the biggest in the world. I first knew of Drake through the horrible show Degrassi. And when I heard Jimmy(Drake's character) was a rapper/singer I thought he was gonna be whack as fuck. My senior year of high school(06-07)I heard my first two Drake songs(Replacement Girl and City is Mine). I was very impressed and eager to see what he would become. I never thought he would be as big as he is. His first album to me seems to be a good foundation of what can be a long career. He is extremely talented in both singing and rapping, he is a solid songwriter for himself and others,and he seems to be a pretty hard worker. His album can best be described as "So Far Gone Pt.II". That is not a knock on the cd in anyway however. So Far Gone was such an amazing mixtape it is actually probably one of the best cds of the second part of this decade. I was a little suprised that Thank Me Later was more of an urban r&b cd than a straightforward rap album. But his debut is solid and it is well worth buying. And while I'm on that point...I delayed posting this because I didnt want to encourage the illegal download of this cd. Though I have heard the cd, I do plan on buying it when it comes out. New Artist need support. So download it legally or go buy a hard copy...peace
