Album Review: Eminem's Recovery

Eminem has returned. Although Relapse was offered as his official return to rap, even Eminem will tell you it had something missing. And Eminem does tell the listener to his numerous times that he is sorry for putting out a mediocre album. But Recovery seems to be an appropriate title for this album. Eminem is evolving in a man. Gone are the days of "Kill You" in which he so elegantly said "Do you think I won't choke no whore, til the vocal chords don't work in her throat no more?". The 2010 version of Eminem is still crazy but not as deranged. He first describes himself as a father, then an addict, and then most importantly to the public- a role model. Say what you will about Marshall, but he is an example of what you can become by overcoming. And this album seems to be his most personal since the Eminem Show. He speaks more about his life and where he is going. And the best part about the album is the weird accent from Rebirth is gone. So all in all I do like Recovery. It also is a great break from the bullshit rap offered for the most part today. This album leaked but I encourage everyone to buy it June 22...peace

An Advisory to New Smokers**

Alright pictures like the one make smoking seem like the coolest thing ever. Music and movies also make passing the dutch look like a great thing. But as Peter Parker's uncle would say, "With great power comes great responsibility". The problem today is we live in a relatively small world. And with social network sites the world becomes even smaller. So when your Facebook says something like "I'm High as F***" don't expect to get a call back from that interview. Another problem I have with the 2010 smoker is ya'll have no sense of respect or history of Marijuana culture. The 2010 smoker is a junkie. The 2010 smoker doesn't want to listen to great music and watch great movies when they are high, they wanna fight, play video games, and other things that waste the weed(lol). And its just sad to hangout with a new smoker. They wanna listen to wack music and watch bullshit shows and movies. They also don't wanna have great conversations they wanna talk about shit they talk about when they aren't high. But the worst thing about a new smoker is they think know alot about weed because they started smoking last week and they looked up shit on wikipedia. But I digress...Marijuana if used should be used in moderation and not abused. Respect the culture and have some common sense kiddies. Don't tell people you smoke weed online that's stupid. As a matter of fact don't tell anyone. Because it doesn't matter because almost everyone has smoked before. And if you are someone that brags about it, that makes you a 2010 Smoker(dreadful music in background) hahaha PEACE

**NOTE: I personally do not participate in any illegal activities. I am only a social critic. And also have a sense of humor people. Its just LIFE. -EDITOR

Album Review: Drake's Thank Me Later

Drake in a matter of 2 yrs has went from a relatively unknown rapper to one of the biggest in the world. I first knew of Drake through the horrible show Degrassi. And when I heard Jimmy(Drake's character) was a rapper/singer I thought he was gonna be whack as fuck. My senior year of high school(06-07)I heard my first two Drake songs(Replacement Girl and City is Mine). I was very impressed and eager to see what he would become. I never thought he would be as big as he is. His first album to me seems to be a good foundation of what can be a long career. He is extremely talented in both singing and rapping, he is a solid songwriter for himself and others, and he seems to be a pretty hard worker. His album can best be described as "So Far Gone Pt.II". That is not a knock on the cd in anyway however. So Far Gone was such an amazing mixtape it is actually probably one of the best cds of the second part of this decade. I was a little suprised that Thank Me Later was more of an urban r&b cd than a straightforward rap album. But his debut is solid and it is well worth buying. And while I'm on that point...I delayed posting this because I didnt want to encourage the illegal download of this cd. Though I have heard the cd, I do plan on buying it when it comes out. New Artist need support. So download it legally or go buy a hard copy...peace
